I can confidently say that if you're seeking an exciting and dynamic programme with a fantastic academic team, along with the opportunity to meet and study with like-minded peers from various countries in one of the greatest cities in the UK, you should definitely apply!

One of the biggest draws for me was that I could do my degree in under a year here whereas in Canada a post-graduate degree in education is two years in nearly every university. I didn't want to go back to school for another two years, I felt my career was already underway and so Strathclyde's single year program was the only one that felt right to me.

I have obtained interviews and offers for a Social Researcher position in Washington DC and Policy Analyst positions across the US. This is specifically because of the experience I gained from the MSc and I could not be more grateful.

I came across the website of the University of Strathclyde and I got to see that they have an established Law Clinic which allows the students to volunteer and help in government projects. That was something which struck a chord and I knew it in my heart I was going here if accepted!

I highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in any area of international commercial law. I particularly enjoyed the overall teaching model, which put equal emphasis on foundational teaching from the academic staff and critical discussion and engagement from students.

The practical counselling skills element of the programme was well-implemented and centred around the person-centred principles of congruence, empathy and unconditional positive regard. This began with learning how to engage with self-awareness, active listening, ethical principles and progressive practice within peer triad group work.

I ultimately decided on Strathclyde because I was impressed by progressive and people-centred publications from the Department of Social Work and Social Policy. I knew I wanted to study at an institution that valued such impactful research.

The PGDE course at Strathclyde is one I would thoroughly recommend. I found the modules enjoyable and the pace of learning made me feel both challenged and enthused in equal manner.
